Lincoln School’s Digital LEAP
Digital Literacy for Educators Action Plan
Since the rapid rate of technology advancement is creating digital inequity, Lincoln School Oy is creating a digital inclusion action plan to help Educators stay relevant. Our aim is to empower Educators as they adapt to digital classrooms.
Our Digital LEAP has set out 3 strategic priorities
Action Plan Priority 1:
Fostering the development of a basic digital proficiency needed to manage a classroom
Use online training to elevate the digital proficiency level of Educators to a minimum level which includes working
knowledge of tools that elevate classroom productivity. These tools include:
-
- Email tools
- Connectivity and communication tools including Google Classroom and Zoom
- Design tools similar to Canva
- Cloud storage tools similar to Dropbox and Google Drive
- Assessment tools Similar to Quizlet
- Mind mapping tools similar to MindJet
- Note taking tools similar to Evernote
- Learning Management System
Action Plan Priority 2:
Provide Educators with access to Finnish and EU apps to promote digital citizenry
Leverage the rich ecosystem of EdTech apps developed by Finnish and EU entrepreneurs, and further train the
Educators on how to incorporate these apps to attain an elevated level of productivity. We will be requesting the
members of the following organizations to participate and provide access to their apps:
-
- Helsinki Education Hub
- Education Finland
- EdTech Finland
Action Plan Priority 3:
Facilitate Educators to learn conversational Finnish language while still in their country
Talent mobility and immigration are becoming a high priority for forward thinking nations. Since Finland is looking to
welcome talent who can become an asset to the nation, we will be able to use our Digital LEAP program to help
people in Zambia learn conversational Finnish so that they have an opportunity to relocate to Finland if they find a
job.

It's such a wonderful program. I am in lover with technology and I would want to maximise my IT lesson delivery skills through this program. After all, i wouldn't think twice about relocating.
